Error Setup failed while creating ISA Server storage when you update ISA 2004 to ISA 2006

Hi Folks

Several time you receive the error setup while creating the ISA Server storage when you update from ISA 2004 to ISA 2006

Symptoms :
After few minutes, during setup you receive error setup failed while creating ISA server storage when installing ISA 2006.

Cause/ Reason :
After running the ISA setup in debugging mode : ".\fpc\MS_FPC_Server.msi \l* >

isa_debugging_log.txt ".You find the following lines

11:23:08 ISA setup CA INFO : VerifyPropertyEqualValue: Property Sku = SE
11:23:08 ISA setup CA ERROR : StorageOperations::GetParser_Server: AccountToSidStr failed, hr=0x800706fd
11:23:08 ISA setup CA ERROR : GetParser_Server() failed
11:23:08 ISA setup CA ERROR : PrepareParamsAndCreateStorage: TheStorageOperations.CreateStorage() failedSetup failed while creating ISA Server storage. MSI (s) (50!A0) [11:23:53:484]: Product: Microsoft ISA Server 2006 -- Setup failed while creating ISA Server storage.
11:23:53 ISA setup CA ERROR : Setup failed while creating ISA Server storage.
11:23:53 ISA setup CA ERROR : (Error 37012) Setup failed while creating ISA Server storage. 11:23:53 ISA setup CA ERROR : EXIT: CreateStorage_ArrayAndServer, Custom Action failed (0x643)

Reason of failing After research over it, I found the source of problem."AccountToSidStr" failed when the domain controller is not found or if there is any problem with RPC protocol .

Resolution
1. Remove the computer from domain .
2. Reboot the system.
3. Update ISA 2004 to ISA 2006.
4. Again join the domain .
5 Reboot the system
6. We successfully install ISA 2006.
Enjoy updating ISA 2004 to ISA 2006 !!!!!
